The Adams Rods MAX BLACK fly rod was born and designed to target trophy fish. If your target is to catch fish in size 1 to 6 kg, no matter the species, this is the rod for you. Other Adams rod series, like the MAX Evo or the XTZ can also handle big fish, but were not designed with the only purpose of hunting specimen fish. As during the last years we have been able to extend our playgrounds and all fish around Europe, new necessity have occurred to own the right tool for handling dream fish and that’s the MAX BLACK’s DNA.

This rod is so versatile that will allow you to cast single tiny nymphs, as well as a dry-droppers and large zonker jig nymphs, only by adjusting your preferred euro-nymphing rig. From large rivers to small tributary waters the MAX BLACK has been designed to fish it all, with a lenght of 10.5ft and a 3-weight line, will allow any angler to cover most scenarios he can be faced with.

Sanded and unpainted nano-carbon fiber rod blank in combination with black ultra light wire singlefoot guides not only provides perfect stealth to approach spooky fish, there’s also a considerable gain of weight by leaving any paint off the rod. This proves useful in lower swing weight in the tip section what provides an «ultra-fast » tip recovery. The ultra-fast action is also beneficial on windy days, for long accurate casts without the need of overload the rod: the instant recovery reduces line tangles around the tip section considerably, be they traditional overhead, roll or arrow casts.

To reduce line slack to a minimum, the Adams Rods MAX BLACK features a 11+1 guide formula: 10 light wire single foot guides and 1 triple leg stripping guide with SIC insert placed just 20cm above the carbon handle: large loop guides allow any line/leader knot to pass through with ease. It also brings the same carbon handle used the Adams Rods XTZ rod series, a Carbon Fiber Handle developed in collaboration with CFX with not olny a very unique ergonomic design, but with its Vibra-Core material it also transmits the minutest resonance from the blank into the angler’s hand.
